We have been researching block quilt patterns trying to decide which would be good for beginner quilters. After browsing hundreds of patchworks blocks, we finally decided on enough to build a block of the month quilt.

We knew it was important to include a variety of techniques such as applique blocks and foundation blocks and we also threw in some curved piecing just for fun!

If you are unfamiliar with block of the month quilts, the idea is simple.
Each month, a block of the month kit will be shipped to you. It will include the block quilt pattern plus all the fabric needed to complete that month's block pattern. This particular program is 10 pattern blocks, so you will have plenty of time to complete each block before the next shipment arrives!

This method of block quilting will be very easy to manage as the confusion is lessened by the smaller amounts of fabric.

I have chosen some beautiful fabrics for this quilt block of the month program. I was very excited to find some beautiful Moda fabrics in just the right colors that I wanted for the block of month.

I am planning to get started stitching my own quilt block of month ASAP! Of course while I am stitching I will be recording tutorial videos to help quilters get through these new techniques.
